• How do I calculate the size of my configuration?

  Configuration size is defined by the amount of the key configuration elements you choose to manage with Salto. Not all elements are counted towards pricing, but only those that belong to a predefined list within each business application;

• What are Tokens?

  Tokens are Salto’s billing units and they correspond with the number of the key configuration elements you opt to manage using Salto. It's important to note that not all elements are counted towards Tokens; Only those from a predefined list within each business application contribute to the count.
  
  Salto’s Tokens can be acquired via 2 different plans -
  ‍Pay-Per-Use Plan: Billed monthly based on the number of Tokens fetched.
  ‍Annual Plan: Buy a fixed amount of tokens upfront for the entire year to enjoy discounted rates. In the annual plan, Tokens are packed in 200-unit buckets.
  

  

• How does Salto determine the number of Tokens I manage?

  When Salto fetches your configuration data, it counts various key configuration elements and translates them into Tokens. To learn how to optimize the size of your configuration, click here.
  

  

• What happens if I have more than one production connection?

  Have more than one production connection? Not a problem! You can seamlessly connect and manage multiple production environments using Salto. Whether you have several production environments within the same business application or across different applications, Salto has you covered.
  
  Please note that all production environments count towards your billing.

  

• What if I connect the same production or sandbox to multiple Salto environments?
  

  Salto's environments are not limited, so you can connect the same production or sandbox to multiple Salto environments without incurring any additional fees.

  

• What if I don’t connect a production connection?

  If no production connection exists, billing defaults to Tokens used in your largest non-production connection.

  

• What are the billing implications if I replace my production connection with a different one?

  In the month when you replace your production connections, Salto will include both the old and new connections in your billing. After this period, only your new connection will be considered for billing purposes.

  

• Can I use my purchased Tokens for all applications?

  Absolutely! Tokens are not application-specific and can be used with all supported applications

  

• I’m on the annual plan, what happens if I exceed the amount of Tokens?

  If you’re on an annual plan, overage Tokens will be billed at the Pay-Per-Use rate, applied monthly.

  

• I’m on the annual plan, what happens if I don’t use all my Tokens?

  If you are on the annual plan and you don't use all your Tokens during a particular month, please note that Tokens cannot be transferred or carried over to the next month.

  

• Can Salto integrate with any business application?

  Wouldn’t that be nice? But no, not yet. But it does support 8 of the most important ones including Salesforce, NetSuite, Workato, Zendesk, Jira, Okta and more. Compare this to all other configuration tools that each support just one business application.

  

• What type of configuration objects does Salto support?

  Salto supports anything that is considered a component of your business application configuration. For example, custom objects, custom fields, workflows, scripts, etc.

  In some cases, where data records are being used as metadata, such as with Salesforce CPQ, we also support data records. To see the applications’ specific coverage, check out our integrations.

  

• What is a Salto Environment?

  A Salto environment represents the configuration of a specific account or instance (Production, Staging, Dev, etc.) of a business application. Once you connect your Salto environment with its respective business application instance, you can fetch the most up-to-date version of the configuration. A Salto environment is a collaborative space where your team can explore the current state of the configuration, understand where elements are being used, deploy changes, document them using Git, and set alerts on changes made in the environment.

  

• Can I use Salto for CPQ data seeding?

  Yes, you can use Salto to seed any type of sandbox with CPQ data records. Salto also supports granular seedings, meaning you can seed a partial set of data, i.e. only certain products and their configuration attributes. For more details, please check out this help article.

  

• How can I be sure Salto meets my company's security requirements?

• Do you need a credit card to start the free plan?

  Only if you want to leave a tip for your developer. But no, it’s forever-free, no credit card games. Enjoy!
  

  

• How does the Pro free trial work?

  During this 30 days trial period, you’ll gain full access to all of Salto Pro’s features so you can test drive it yourself to improve your deployments' success rate. A credit card is not required, you’ll be able to try all of the Pro features, including environment comparison, deployments, Git integration, and more.

  

• What happens after the trial ends?

  Once your trial period ends, you’ll be able to choose between joining the paid subscription or continuing to use our forever-free plan. With the free plan, you won't be able to compare environments, deploy changes between them or document them in your Git repository. However, you can still explore your configuration, identify dependencies, and understand where configuration elements are being used.

  

• Can I pay for Salto monthly?

  Yes, Salto Pro plan has both annual and monthly subscriptions. You can select your preferred plan when completing checkout in the app.

  

• What is the difference between monthly and annual plans?

  Our Salto Pro monthly subscription plan requires monthly payments, while customers with the annual Pro subscription will be charged once a year and can enjoy additional users and environments at a lower cost.

  

• What payment methods do you accept?

  Our Pro subscription can be purchased with a credit card. If you need a quote/PO/invoice as part of a corporate procurement process, please contact us at sales@salto.io. The Enterprise contract terms can be discussed with our Sales team.

  

• Can I add users for my existing subscription?

  You can add users for your Salto team as your team changes. For any new users added, we will add a one-time payment for the remainder of your current billing cycle, and a corresponding recurring fee to the next billing cycles.

  

• How are users counted towards billing?

   Our pricing is based on the number of Salto users added to the plan.
